Fight For The Future - Protect IP
Large companies such as Wikipedia and Google are protesting against a new and damaging censor in America. A censor which will stiffle free speech on the internet, and one in which will lessen innovation and give power to larger companies.
The 'Protect IP' act (PIPA) would give governments new powers to block access to certain websites. Any website with copyright infringments could be taken down or sued, and all for the benefit of the Entertainment industry. This legislation will not only stifle free speech and innovation but also threaten popular web services like Twitter, Facebook, and Youtube.
